At Stilwell Station, we believe that small businesses have a responsibility that goes beyond the products they sell. Every purchase you make here is part of something larger - because we commit a portion of every sale to organizations working on the front lines of human rights.

This isn’t a marketing strategy. It’s just who we are.

We started this business because we wanted to build something meaningful — and to us, meaningful means creating beauty in the world while also fighting for the dignity and safety of every person in it. Human rights aren’t a political issue to us. They’re a human one.

In 2025, we were proud to support eight organizations doing vital, courageous work. Here’s who we stood with - and why.

 

2025 Spotlights

The Trevor Project

The Trevor Project provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ+ young people. We are deeply committed to protecting and affirming the lives of queer youth - their safety, their joy and their future.

 

ACACIA

ACACIA supports child immigrants navigating one of the most vulnerable and uncertain experiences a young person can face. These children deserve safety, care, and a fair chance - regardless of where they were born or how they arrived. We gave to ACACIA because we believe no child should have to fight alone for their basic rights and dignity.

KC Pride 

We’re proud to support Pride right here in Kansas City. Local community events like KC Pride create visible, joyful spaces where LGBTQ+ people and allies can gather, celebrate and belong. Showing up locally matters just as much as the global work.

UNICEF

UNICEF works in over 190 countries to protect the rights and wellbeing of children everywhere. When we talk about human rights, we mean every human - and that starts with children. No child should grow up without safety, education or care.

 

Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood provides essential reproductive and sexual healthcare to millions of people, regardless of income. We believe that bodily autonomy is a fundamental human right and that everyone deserves access to compassionate, judgment-free care.

 

UN Crisis Relief

When disaster strikes - conflict, famine, displacement - the UN’s humanitarian operations are often the first and most critical line of response. We gave to UN Crisis Relief in 2025 because the scale of need in the world demanded it.

 

Forever Welcome

Forever Welcome supports immigrants, helping them to find community. Everyone deserves a place to belong. We’re honored to support an organization that makes that more than a sentiment - and turns it into action.

 

ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union)

The ACLU defends the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every person in this country. In a time when those rights are being challenged in courtrooms and legislatures across the country, their work has never been more essential. We’re glad to stand behind it.
